Providence Mountains SRA is home to Mitchell Caverns, the only publicly accessible caves in the California desert. Guided tours through the caverns reveal stunning limestone formations including stalactites, stalagmites, and cave shields. Above ground, the Providence Mountains rise dramatically above the Mojave Desert with sweeping views across the preserve.
