Expect solitude and plenty of parking
Great any time
This 3,000-acre park protects a granite butte rising from the Mojave Desert floor, surrounded by Joshua tree woodlands. The trail to the 3,651-foot summit offers panoramic views of the Antelope Valley and distant mountains. Spring brings spectacular wildflower blooms when conditions are right. The park showcases classic high desert ecology with yucca, cacti, and Joshua trees. Excellent stargazing due to dark skies. A peaceful desert escape north of Los Angeles.
